A Documentation Design Refresh

Our documentation (docs.killbill.io) now has a new design. We put in quite a bit of time and work updating the look and feel.

new Kill Bill documentation interface

Here’s a summary of the main features:

  •  A  – Click the Kill Bill logo to return to docs.killbill.io
  •  B  – Collapse/expand list of documents
  •  C  – Search bar
  •  D  – Navigate open document with Table of Contents

We’ve also included an email link in the lower-left corner ( E ) in case you spot any problems:

That Java Vulnerability That Freaked Out the Internet

Thankfully, Kill Bill is not affected by the log4j vulnerability revealed in December 2021. Kill Bill relies on slf4j and logback as an implementation (and not log4j).

When news like this occurs, we notify our GitHub sponsors right away on a dedicated Slack channel.

We’ll also post on the Kill Bill Community (mailing list).

More Documentation

As highlighted a few months ago in a blog post, our doc team has added several guides to docs.killbill.io:

We’ve also updated the Overdue System Guide.

More Tutorial Videos

Kaui is excellent for testing and all sorts of administrative back-office tasks. The Kaui tutorials are great for onboarding new employees whose responsibilities fall within the billing realm.

Here are our latest ones:

How to Apply Transactions to Payment Methods—Applying various transactions, such as authorize, capture, or refund, directly against a payment method, such as a credit card. Note that this process is different from paying an invoice (below).

How to Make a Payment on an Invoice—Kill Bill automatically pays invoices if the customer account has a valid default payment method. However, in certain conditions, this default behavior is disabled. This video shows you how to pay an invoice manually.

How to Write Off or Void an Invoice—Writing off an invoice is different from voiding an invoice. Learn the difference and how to perform each process.

Latest Kill Bill Release: 0.22.28
